At the Mahanati Movie audio launch actor Akkineni Nagarjuna commented subtly on the casting couch issue that is surrounding the film industry. Showing the examples of Swapna and Priyanka Dutt who are producing Mahanati film, and 25 other women technicians, Nagarjuna denied that women are not respected in the industry. Many things are changing in the industry and it has to change accordingly, he observed. Any industry has to become more cultured according to the society and only then there is progress, he said.
