Mahanati Movie Review:
Any biopic to work needs a good amount of research, sticking to true history, highlighting the drama in the life of the person aided good production values. All these aspects worked out for Mahanati. Most of the times biopic films lack commerciality and runs merely on the popularity of the person on whom it was made. Especially if the film is based on the life of a celebrity whose half of the life was in hardship, then the film may end up with slow narration.
Actress Savitri’s childhood, entry into films, rise as an actress, love n marriage with Gemini Ganeshan, disturbances in personal life, downfall in career, alcohol addiction n finally tragic death., all these were told in Mahanati. Savitri’s life is an open book and Nag Ashwin impresses with his taking by bringing that emotional connect.
Artistes makeup, the cinematography was just too good. Some scenes really take you to those black n white days. Keerthy Suresh is just awesome as Savitri. She delivered a decent performance. She is here to receive many awards for this movie.
Technical: Mahanati Movie has good production values and Mickey J Meyer’s music, Dani Sanchez-Lopez’s cinematography, Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao’s editing, dialogues, makeup and recreation of her era are attractions on the technical front, say the audiences.
Mahanati Movie Rating: 3.5/5
Final Verdict: A Walk into Mahanati Savitri’s life!
